BIO

I am a performance art person who has moved into the world of visual arts. I received my undergrad degree in Theatre Arts and worked in theatre and film for over 30 years. In 2019 I started taking abstract photographs of the movement of sand and in 2020 I started painting with acrylics on canvas.

I am finding that painting is an enormous outlet for me in regards to creative energy but also it has become a powerful tool in helping me to deal with and survive the dysfunction and unfair treatment of human beings in this country and beyond. I started painting at a crucial crossroads in this country and across the world.

ARTIST STATEMENT

My paintingsI are inspired by the
movement of my surroundings; the waves, wind
and sand of the ocean but also the movement of
sound and light. Everything has movement even if it
appears stationary. My artistic obsession is
capturing the force and sublety of this movement in
my photographs and my paintings.

Ukrainian Skies was my way of letting out my complete frustration with the United States not working to close the skies over the Ukraine when they were first invaded. I was angry and ashamed. The painting reflects the noise, the destruction, the devastation of a country and her people.
