Raised in North Carolina and now a resident of northern Virginia, Derek M. Moore is a visual artist, musician and retired veteran. He focuses on abstract expression via media including acrylic painting, woodworking, textiles and digital photography.
ARTIST STATEMENT
Derek Moore's art is most often inspired by actual experiences. He tends to capture moments in time that provoke thought, deserve attention and require objective reasoning. The point of view for all of his art is a perspective of observer as well as participant. He believes that everyone plays a "role of choice" as they experience life's moments. It is the "choice" that determines outcomes and consequences which ultimately impact us all.
