Bio & Statement
In 2020 when we were in lock-down I needed to get out of the house. Living near the waterfront I fell in love with the debris left behind by the waves. The river gifted me with already exquisitely carved sculptures. I let the driftwood speak to me. I enjoy finding the pieces of wood and glass as much as I love painting the faces that are revealed to me.
My love of water has taken me from the Caribbean to river front life that I hold so dear. There is a loving yet destructive relationship between humanity and the waterways that are so imperative. The majority of my work is created in collaboration with the materials in their purist form to reveal the story within.
