The one thing I've discovered in my travels is that every animal has its own distinctive personality. It's interesting to consider what they're thinking when they splash about, sleep in a tree, lie in the grass, scratch and peck, and look into the sky. Animals provide an infinite palette in which to create art. My work is a mixed media approach that not just documents the fur and feathers of the animals that I've encountered throughout the world, but also tries to shed light on their curious behavior. Many people have a favorite animal, I love them all!

BIO

I was born into an artistic family and since I lived in Virginia, I was fortunate enough to be able to visit the Smithsonian Museums frequently. I've always enjoyed working in pencil, considered by some as being one of the most difficult media to work with. A lover of nature, I've been drawing wildlife since I was little. I've always been drawn to realism and as a result, my work is very detailed and I try to bring a sense of life to a moment frozen in time.
