This equipped her among others, with strong drawing and designing skills. After immigrating to Chicago, in 1989, she continued her artistic training at the Harper Community College, Palatine, IL, attended many workshops, and spent years on self-educating, and refining her skills.
Today, Kasia enjoys creating mixed-media projects, which involve use of different types of paper. Her inspiration comes from nature's mysterious beauty, and from believing in the deep connection between all elements of the Universe. Nowadays, Kasia is an active member of the Chicago art community, showing and selling her works, doing commissions, and organizing art events.
Building new compositions, step by step, inch by inch, is a form of meditation for me, a journey to self-discovery. It is also a way of communicating my observations and thoughts about society and life. In a search for the special artistic language I discovered creative technique that combines versatile properties of paper and its warm energy, with the modern but cold medium - acrylic paints. Texture is for me an important visual tool and paper proves to be an amazing medium for creating surfaces. Recently, I am interested in the human psyche and movement. I am working on expressing emotions by painting simplified human-like figures, linear signs sent to the viewer's subconscious.
