BIO

Jo is a New York-born artist whose work centers primarily on topics of spiritual, psychological & gender identity both individual and collective, with themes of Power, Vulnerability, Sexuality & the sway between them. Jo has practiced spirituality & divination since a young age & has created five different Tarot & Oracle decks. Raised & born in a Caribbean family, not only does Jo sell her own self-created decks, but gives readings with a non-judgmental & free-spirited style. Jo has worked as a freelancer since 1999.

In the nature of all “Art” is about freedom, it is about expressing oneself and reaching others through a visual affect because art is truly “in the eye of the beholder” what has inspired me to be an artist is how I am able to reach out to society and teach others that art is not only media and painting but an avenue to express ones inner core soul with the events that have impacted each and every one of us in life. Art is therapy and freedom.

The Child

The Child

"The Child" is an innocent, naïve being, this art image reflects the child feeling a state of protection and having a bond with its teddy bear, which in return brings the child comfort. In reality all a child needs is love, protection and the time to educate the child that it's okay to make mistakes and to cry over spilled milk..

The Empress

The Empress is the home of the child, is where the child is created. The Empress provides indefinite safety and fruitfulness for the child. The Empress waits patiently for the birth of the child, which will be the next generation to pave the path for our future.
