BIO

After immigrating from the West Indies Andrea Clement studied Fine Arts at the University of DC and the Corcoran School of Art. She creates vivid figurative paintings and unique driftwood masks mined from her local beach.

My work is an interpretation of a child's vulnerability to maltreatment. Created without the depictions of despair or degradation.

Catching Fireflies

Catching Fireflies

We contain the light of the firefly briefly and release their beauty into the world. Captivity will not reduce our luminescence.

Fetching Water

Fetching Water

Fetching water can be dangerous for women and girls. They can face conflict at water points and the risk of physical assault.
