BIO

My name is Camille Emblem, born in Pasadena, California. I am a self taught artist and I work with acrylic and mixed media. I have exhibited with Art Impact International in the "Caliente" exhibition, Whitney Museum of Art (2017), SFMOMA (San Francisco Museum of Modern Art) and Aesthetica Magazine (2017). Also, I am the author and illustrator of "Abstract Thoughts" Why I Paint (series).

ARTIST STATEMENT

I was inspired by both of my parents (Lynn & Henry) to create this mixed media art piece about the importance of peace, not war. My father served in the Vietnam War which was very hard on him. My mixed media art piece is interactive for kids. They are to look in the painting the following: Letters spelling-Human Rights, Free Britney (Brittney Griner in Russia), find where my dad is holding the Human Rights flag, women of the Vietnam war, Vietnam soldiers, how to spell Vietnamese (Ti?ng Vi?t), how many times do they see the word FREE, where is the peace sign and which image painted is from the National Archives or published for the artist references?
