An International Art Exhibition and Global Competition, Honoring the Beauty of Sign Languages Around the World.  International Week of the Deaf is the only week in a year that sees highly concerted global advocacy to raise awareness about the Deaf Community on different levels. Celebrated the last full week of September since 2009.

Visual voices deserve to be seen. In honor of International Day of Sign Languages, we invite artists worldwide to submit  innovative interpretations of sign language for a special exhibition. This is an opportunity to showcase sign language in all its beauty and complexity through original artwork across any medium. Turn this vital nonverbal communication into stunning visual art.

This Global Art Competition is an attempt to create awareness about the challenges and triumphs of the hard of hearing across the globe. Art with this topic in mind generates stronger awareness in people, that people with disabilities remain creative no matter the challenge.

We are inviting entries from artists from all over the world to illustrate their creative thoughts in the form of original artwork based on this subject.  Let's showcase your talent to the global public.

Juror selections will be displayed at our 3-D virtual gallery during International Week of the Deaf 2023.

All contributing artists will attend our Artist Talk and Virtual Gallery Tour, and have work promoted through our website/social media.

Help us spotlight sign language and the signing community through your creative lens. Submit your original paintings, drawings, photographs, mixed media, or sculpture that visualize aspects of sign language by September 30, 2023.

Let your hands do the talking through your art and join us in honoring the hard of hearing and in celebrating sign languages worldwide.
