Nils Hill

Pandemic, The Light Therein

(June 2020)

I see all my work as intimate and contemplative, as work demanding the viewer to spend time to allow the painting to reveal itself. These paintings do not represent anything other than what they are: paint on a rigid support. The paintings do not signify anything other than how they work in the world. They do have an evocative power, which can evoke a spiritual or emotive response, despite their being inseparably bound to the purely physical.
