Pandemic, The Light Therein

(July 2020)

I am a figurative painter drawn to subjects like clowns, circus freaks, and most recently male nudes, unconventional and sometimes unsettling imagery. In my work, I reference history and more particularly art history, and use a traditional technique of glazes on stucco. By layering my images, I want to create a sense of cross-cultural dislocation, a metaphor for the traditional act of painting in a digital age.
