Stacey Patterson

Artist's Bio

Born in Detroit, Michigan May 24th, 1965, Stacey Lane Patterson moved to Washington, DC at age one and was raised in Landover, MD.  Stacey Lane was developing skills in Design and Fine Arts with an Interest in Faith and Philosophy before he was thirteen. While enrolled at Morgan State University, he co-founded Alpha NU Omega Inc., the first Christian Fraternity and Sorority, in 1988.  After college, the Museums of Washington DC became his classroom. The self taught Artist has work published in the Vision Magazine a First Baptist of Glenarden. Also, Stacey Lane’s artwork is repeatedly exhibited in the Pepco Edison Place Gallery in Washington DC.  Currently, he works as a freelance Artist, Chaplain of FBCGlenarden’s Art Ministry and Founder of Paint-n-Praise w/Stacey Lane.  Moreover, Stacey is recognized for his service in the Church and community by the Music and Arts Department of FBCGlenarden; he is the recipient of the 2017 S.A.L.T. Award (Serve, Accountability, Love, Teach).

 

Statement

In the process of creating art, I discover that out of the abundance of the heart, authenticity is birthed. I aspire to introduce Christ to a broken world through art.
