Artist’s Bio

Abiodun Eniyandunni is a Nigerian-American artist who lives and works in Washington, DC.  Here he stands at his Thesis Defense presentation.  This year, 2018, Eniyandunni is a Master of Fine Arts candidate at Howard University, Washington, D.C. with a specialization in Studio Painting. He started his early Arts/Painting education at Yaba College of Technology, Lagos, Nigeria and he acquired his Bachelor of Arts at North Carolina Central University, Durham, NC.Abiodun is also a multi-media artist and he has participated in several art exhibitions both locally and internationally.

Statement

Abiodun Eniyandunni's concept is based on contemporary art discourses and global issues of discriminations. He is using his artistic skills in reaching out to the globe about cultural, racial, and gender identity. He wants people to appreciate the context of arts rather than the labeling due to the racial or geographical connection of the artist or due to the subject matter of the artwork and still retain the messages from it.Abiodun believes that through depth relationship and understanding of others social anthropology and tradition, we can have a better perspective of their aesthetic philosophy and put an end to the issues of cultural, racial, and gender discriminations.
