BIO

Shina’s Gallery is an African owned online gallery founded in 2018 by the artist Shina-Olga Diadhiou. Shina is a young multimedia artist from Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal, who graduated from the University of Washington, with a bachelor’s degree in biology. Moving to Seattle in 2014, she fell in love with art, science and fashion which influenced her creativity and is reflected in her artwork. In 2017, she won the title of Miss Africa Washington State which brought her closer to her roots and made her realize the importance of “representation”. Her mission is to create a different perspective of what is known as “African Art”, by creating art through the eyes of a new generation. She continues to support the African community by organizing auction and fundraisers. Her work is available on www.shinasgallery.com and Instagram: @shinasgallery.

Artist Statement

I take a lot of inspiration from the African culture. I want to represent who I am and what it means to me to be an African woman.
