Pandemic, The Light Therein

Regardless of the subject, my work is characterized by a strong sense of color and a balance of lines, shapes and patterns that dance across the image plane. I begin with the idea, then refine and purify it until I achieve a simplicity that is compelling in both content and design.
Taking a page out of Jasper Johns and Rauschenberg playbooks, I made use of the Readymade to depict my love of music and the profound effects it has had on mankind.

BIO
Robert V. P. Davis was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art, earning a Diploma in Fine Arts Painting. His work as a painter, sculptor, designer and illustrator has been exhibited in Baltimore, Washington DC, New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles; in Virginia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Utah, Texas, and Arkansas; as well as in Sinop and Ankara, Turkey. He has earned numerous awards over the years. He also enjoys his family and friends, gardening, cooking, community work, touring museums and galleries, and traveling.
